Welcome to 1244 (Swindon) Squadron
~ Royal Air Force Air Cadets ~

The RAF Air Cadets is a UK wide youth organisation open to anyone aged 12 to 20 years who is looking for activity, adventure, new challenges and a chance to gain valuable life skills. An interest in aviation is beneficial but not essential, and you don't have to be thinking about a career in the military either - we offer something for everyone!

Following a period of closure due to the COVID pandemic, which saw as much of our activity as possible move online, 1244 Squadron has now re-opened for face-to-face activity albeit under COVID-safe restrictions including social distancing and bubbles.

During the period of closure 1244 Squadron merged with 633 (West Swindon) Squadron to become one of the biggest squadrons in Dorset & Wiltshire. We currently have around 50 cadets attending on a weekly basis, and will be looking to recruit more very soon. The squadron also had a change of leadership, with Sqn Ldr Darren Pascoe taking over as the Commanding Officer having previously been OC 633 Squadron.

Please have a browse around the site to see what our cadets get up to and what the Royal Air Force Air Cadets can offer you!

Interested in joining? Check out the links above, particularly the potential recruits and what we do pages to learn more about the organisation and our squadron - then get in touch!
